On Saturday we had a beautiful baby shower and were so lucky to get spoiled with so many things for Liam. Later that night after coming home from being with the family, Matt and I were talking about how if we we had the baby the next day it wouldn't be good (for many reasons) but mostly because we had nothing ready. 1 year
What an incredible weekend we had. Matt had graduated from BYU on Friday and all our family had flown in for the occasion. It was such a celebration and we were so excited that that phase of life was finally ending. We were gearing up for the rest of the weekend which included a baby shower on Saturday, birthday celebrations in our family, and an all day baby shopping trip on Monday to get ready for our little boy.
On Saturday we had a beautiful baby shower and were so lucky to get spoiled with so many things for Liam. Later that night after coming home from being with the family, Matt and I were talking about how if we we had the baby the next day it wouldn't be good (for many reasons) but mostly because we had nothing ready.
3:00 a.m. I got up for my nightly bathroom trip. Something was off and I told Matt I thought my water was breaking. He told me it was no big deal and to come back to bed. (He has sinced learned :) We called the hospital and they told us to come in because we were going to have a baby that day. What?!!! At 9:13 our little Liam was born at 4 lbs. 7 oz and came in with a fighting spirit and quite the personality.
The next few months were rough with every 3 hour feedings that lasted 1.5 hours each, monitors, and no sleep but we honestly wouldn't change a thing. It was hard, but we did it and it made us stronger and closer.
The blessing day was one of the best days of our lives. Getting a glimpse of what this little boy was going to be like and knowing again that he was all ours.
Liam loves bath time then and now, and is one of our favorite times of the day.
He's a charmer and always seems to get his way...
...and figure out how to get his way.
More than anything, he's a happy boy and we've never been so happy than to have him in our lives.
Happy birthday Mr. Liam, baby Leem, the Le-man, Lee-lee, Buster Brown, and Bubba. We sure love you!
