V acation when you are sick.

A couple of weeks ago we took another trip out to see my parents in Indiana. My sister and her family came for a visit also. Instead of a week of day-outings and play dates, we spent most of the week sick and down in bed. Everyone but my parents and brother-in-law got sick. So, what do you do when you are all sick. Well play dress-ups of course!





And have lots and lots of snuggles from Grandma and Grandpa.Sorry we all got sick, Mom and Dad. We love you and cant' wait to see you next month!

The Fidalgos

Can I tell you a really cool story? Let's start back 17 years ago when my brother-in-law, Rus, served his mission in France. While he was there he baptized a family, The Fidalgos, and Emily and Rus have kept in contact with them all these years. In September, their daughter came to the US and stayed with my sister and her family for a couple of weeks. While she was visiting she said that because the nearest temple (which is in Switzerland) was too expensive to get to, they had not yet been sealed. Rus and Emily were a little shocked because they thought that this had taken place years ago. After talking about it they decided to fly the family for Christmas from France to Texas where they live. When the Fidalgos arrived, Emily and Rus had planned another surprise. They flew the family out to Utah to be sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Miracle after miracle happened when they came out to Utah. They met apostles, the Mormon Tabernacle organist, got to see all of the historical sites of Salt Lake City and most importantly were sealed in the temple. Matt and I, along with my sister Jill and her family were able to be there to witness the sealing. It definitely made our top 10 list for "coolest things in life." I can't even describe the joy and happiness the Fidalgos felt and showed. They had been saving for years to go and now after the help and generosity of others, it finally happened. After the sealing we did a little celebration at The Roof. It was New Year's Eve, it was snowing, and it was perfect.

Emily and Rus are two of the most generous people we know. They are always thinking of others and how they can make people's lives better. We hope one day we can repay them for all the nice things they've done for us and others.

So, moral of the story: Remember those in your past and keep in touch because you never know how you might be the means of blessing their lives.

Christmas 2010

Christmas 2010 was spent in California with the Scott family. We had a great week of relaxing, soaking in the Christmas spirit and spending quality family time.

On Christmas Eve we went to the Oakland temple to see the lights and The Reflections of Christ exhibit, which was beautiful.
Got to stay bundled up in the cold.We went over to my brother and his family's house for a visit. It just so happened we were in luck because that night he was making Pain Au Chocolates. They are French pastries, and they will change your life for the better.
Liam loves to wave. He'll wave to you over and over. He'll wave to anyone who moves or anything for that matter. One of his waves he curls his hand like the Pope and moves it like he's blessing you.
Christmas morning was so fun and Liam made out like a bandit. He was so excited that Santa was coming that he hardly slept a wink that night!I love this last picture because it looks like his greatest toy dream is coming true. I finally got the 2010 super bouncer fully equipped!
352 more days until the next Christmas and we can't wait!
