Big Tex

For Christmas my sister and her husband gave us a trip down to see them and their new house in Dallas. We planned the trip for President's Day weekend which subsequently was also when Dallas decided to have the largest snow storm in the history of Texas. It never snows but mother nature decided the weekend when we were going would be a good one to blizzard. Our flight was canceled on Thursday night but we went stand-by all day Friday and finally made it out.

I forgot to take pictures of what we did, but a lot of them would be of us eating. We tried to fit in all of our favorites and got in some of the best BBQ (Riscky's) and Southern Cookin' (Mac's Bar and Grill). I could have literally drank their BBQ sauce.

Superman and Batman came out to defeat their arch nemesis...We went to the stockyards and the zoo and saw these beauties. On Saturday my other sister and her family surprised us by coming down from Lubbock and throwing a surprise baby shower. This baby is already so spoiled. Matt's been practicing burping the baby. For Valentine's Day we all made Valentine's sacks and wrote love notes to each other. Matt's sack was my favorite. We had such a great time and we hope we can make it back down again soon. Thanks again Em and Rus, we love you!

A little love story for Valentine's Day

Three years ago this weekend a group of Matt's and my mutual friends decided to take a spontaneous road trip down to Vegas over President's Day weekend. I had a crush on Matt but didn't think anything would happen. Luckily Matt was out with a friend and missed the first group that left, consequently making him go down to Vegas in my group.

Being in the spirit of Vegas, Matt and I decided to make things interesting by placing bets with each other. The winner of the bets had to take the other person out to dinner, ice cream, or a movie. Matt claims he lost all the bets so he would "have" to take me out. I claim he lost all the bets because when you see orange road cones and your stuck in traffic, the best bet is construction not a parade.Vegas jump started our relationship to where we were engaged 2 moths later and married 4 months after that.A planned picture at the Bellagio Water Show thanks to Brittney and SB...It just goes to show that not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, and I'm sure glad it didn't.
