A Muncie type of Christmas

Christmas went by with a blur like it always does, but we were so glad to spend time with the family and get a break from work and school. Only ONE more semester left and Matt is done!

This year all 20 of us gathered together for the first time in 4 years. I hope we can all make it back every other year because it was so fun.

Christmas started off with the reading of The Christmas story. Did you know that cousin IT was also at the Inn along with the Shepards and Wise Men?
Later that night we played white elephant and Matt took home the 2 best gifts. Bacon mints and a birthing video. The video was specifically given to him so that he can gear up and not pass out during the delivery of the baby. We're a little worried since he almost passed out in the doctor's office when we were just TALKING about my blood results. Yikes.

Jacobson get-togethers aren't complete without games, swimming, and laser tag (ask Matt who beat him in all 6 games.) My sister and brother-in-law put together Jacobson Jeopardy again and the second round was even better than the first. Matt and I volunteered to do The Amazing Race and between Matt having to run a mile and half through people's backyards, going through a swamp while it was snowing, and jumping fences on private property all to set up the next road block for the teams, it went really well. One of the challenges the teams had to do was to do an obstacle course while jumping in Ralphie's bunny suit (see post below).Matt went sledding with the kids in the only snow suit that was left. I think it was made for a ten year old girl but he got lots of hoots and hollers in that thing.
We spent the remainder of the trip watching movies, hibernating, eating Pain Au Chocolates that my brother-in-law learned how to make in France, and playing with the kiddos. Thank you so much Mom and Dad for such a wonderful trip!

The next 20 weeks are going to fly by. We find out the gender this week, go on a few trips, family comes out, Matt graduates and we get to meet Barfa Whoopsie Murphey (the name picked out by my 3 year old niece and 4 year old nephew.) Bring on 2010!
