Historic Moment

To sum up the M.C. Hammer and Vanilla Ice show in two words would be: utter awe. I say utter awe for the following reasons:
1. The concert started TWO and half hours late. What were they doing that they needed to postpone it for 2 and a half hours? They were probably thinking that this would be the last concert they would ever perform so they wanted to savor the moment.
2. We watched 3 guys try to entertain the crowd for two hours by yelling things into the microphone that we couldn't understand, throwing shirts into the crowd, and doing some of the most interesting dance moves that could rival Candice's dance moves.
3. I think Vanilla Ice turned Heavy Metal Rapper instead of just white boy wanting to be black rapper. Let's face it, the only two songs that we know of his are Ice Ice Baby and Go Ninja. None of us could understand a word he was saying in any of the songs.
4. During the end of Vanilla's performance I think something clicked in his head that he was performing for a Mormon majority audience, so he stated that family was the most important thing in the world and had us all chant "FAM-I-LY, FAM-I-LY."
5. M.C. Hammer still has it. His dance moves were incredible along with the 24 dance crew members he brought along. Although he had more recognizable songs and awesome moves, it was hard to understand his transitions to the next song. For example, "Ya know, I see lots of woman in the crowd. And they wear those things on their feet. Looking all fine. Ya know, those pumps." Cue music for the song "Pump It Up."

Overall, it was a great night with friends with lots of memories that were made. So who knows, maybe in another 20 years will be chanting FAM-I-LY with Vanilla Ice and M.C. Hammer.
