When I first moved to Missouri from Texas I was devastated. I was 14, half way through 9th grade, and possibly thought this could be the worst thing that ever happened to me. For a good year I called Missouri "Misery" because I hated the new change so much. After awhile of being there and making some really good friends, I grew to love Missouri. I loved the changing seasons, my high school, the people, and especially the Church History sites.
We had a lot of people come visit us while we lived there to visit the sites, so I got dragged around to the sites about 100 times. I've heard all the stories over and over, and took most of it for granted while living there. Although, one of the main stories that I loved to hear was about how a temple would be built in the Kansas City area. On Saturday, President Monson announced that a temple would be built in Kansas City! What is even cooler is that the temple will be built in the Shoal Creek area which is less than a mile from my old home!
Missouri is a beautiful place and Shoal Creek is an even more beautiful setting for the temple. I am so excited for this to be built and go back to visit it! If you want to read more about it, visit here.
